Cottrells in China

These are some of our photos during a faculty exchange between my university (Central Washington University) and Anhui University in Hefei China. We started by heading east from Washington to NYC, DC, France, then China. Since January we're back in the States, missing our many friends in China.

Market Life (rc)

You don't have to go far to find a market here. No matter what you need, you'll be able to find it sooner or later. Anything from chopsticks to chicken feet! Many of the Shanghai markets are geared to tourists but a lot of the sidestreet ones are authentic and give more of a real flavor of the life here.

The markets here in Hefei are truly working markets and not at all designed for tourists. We were 4 of the 5 westerners in the big working market downtown the day we took these pictures.

Pets are sold right alongside incense and lamps. It's a fascinating sight to see.
